CLSE offers multiple varieties of support to individuals or companies who rely on the generation of technical content - and its publication or use in communicating with clients; documenting new Intellectual Property; perhaps preparing material for a Patent Application.
Ranging from simple proofreading to the production of technical content based on your requirements, help is available. Past support has included translations into English from Portuguese and Spanish - of manuscripts for Journal submissions, as well as other documents ranging from technical manuals to contracts.
Editing and Proofreading
Over the years, I have accumulated hundreds of hours of experience performing copy-editing on manuscripts generated by non-native speakers. Often a paper has been accepted for publication, "pending edits required to ensure proper use of English". In some cases, this has led to simple proofreading, with minor alterations and no major impact to sentence or paragraph structure. Certain customers prefer to receive possible recommendations for a deeper copy-editing process, which may include reorganizing ideas and information for increased clarity and impact.
Translations
If your native language is not English, some of you have discovered that generating the initial version of a manuscript is best accomplished in your strongest language. If that's one of the hundreds of languages I do not read or write, I can coach you on how to safely obtain a reliable translation. Similarly, you can work with me at learning to use Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) software. CAT tools generate a database of your own translated sentences, they integrate glossaries you have prepared, and allow significant time savings on related translations done consecutively - sometimes over the course of years - on material related to the same general topic.
Regardless of the source of a document, translations can be provided depending on original language and the nature of the material.
Writing Assignments (including required research)
Certain customers have delegated research and writing tasks to CLSE. Whether this consists of a literature review; an exploration of potential business opportunities; or content generation for a website, allow CLSE to address that need for you. Often this can allow a customer and their team to focus on other urgent business while avoiding delays in the task assigned to me.
